[openstack-dev] [tripleo] PTG Agenda draft - action required

0 votes

Please look https://etherpad.openstack.org/p/tripleo-ptg-queens

and tell us (in private or here) if there is any conflict with your agenda.
This is a draft, a proposal, we can make any change as long as we have
the feedback.

Also, it's still time to propose topics, please go ahead and
contribute to the etherpad. We'll review the schedule before the PTG
(probably during our weekly meetings tomorrow and next week).

Thanks,

I forgot to remind folks that PTG is a very good time to discuss about
blueprints, as we want to schedule together what we do in the next
cycle.
Which means, please be prepared and create blueprints / specs (even
drafts) prior to the PTG, so we have some support that we can use for
scheduling and discussions.

Thanks a lot,

I brought some changes in the schedule:

  • On Wednesday morning, we'll start at 9am and do a one hour
retrospective to discuss what went wrong and good in Pike, and see how
we can do better in Queens. Alex an I will animate this retro.
  • Which means, CI topics will be split in 2 times: from 10am to 11am
(don't forget to stay in the room after 11am to collaborate with
Kolla) and also on the afternoon from 1.45pm to 3pm. I think it's
    enough time.
  • Heat / Mistral sessions from 3pm to 5.30pm.

I don't count the breaks but we'll figure.
I'm preparing a Google Calendar today, so everyone can easily
understand the schedule.
Any feedback / comment is welcome, thanks.

That anyone can subscribe.

Hope it helps,

roger, I have added to the thursday afternoon a 1h slot to discuss
future developments around Ceph integration

specifically three topics:

  • is use of jinja to create multiple ceph clusters a good idea?
  • upgrade ceph to luminous (maybe also in Kolla)
  • support multiple ceph-pools for cinder-volume

Which means, please be prepared and create blueprints / specs (even
drafts) prior to the PTG, so we have some support that we can use for
scheduling and discussions.

ack, will do and add links to the etherpad to some LP blueprints

thanks Emilien for setting everything up :D

Cool works for me.
Kolla PTL in CC, to make sure it's visible.
Michal, can you join you think? and some from your team?

I appreciate your help in doing the agenda :-)

I think this is a no-brainer as Luminous is the new Ceph LTS release and
brings many improvements like bluestore so we'll want to implement it in
Queens ASAP.

It's a good thing to discuss how we want to do this upgrade from Pike to
Queens (i.e, with ceph-ansible?) though.

Are there plans to build ceph packages then?

Debian 'stretch' is on 10.2.5, Ubuntu 16.04 is on 10.2.7 one. Packages
with 12.x are in Ubuntu 'artful' and on a way to CentOS 7.
