[Openstack] Octavia (LBaaS) and Designate

0 votes

Hi colleagues,

is it mandatory to have Designate running in order to have Octavia
(LBaaSv2) running as well?

I see in logs the following messages:

2017-10-12 12:01:21.915 16382 DEBUG neutronclient.v20.client [-] Error
message: {"message": "The resource could not be found.

\nExtension with alias dns-integration does not exist\n\n", "code":
"404 Not Found", "title": "Not Found"} _handle
faultresponse
/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/neutronclient/v2
0/client.py:258
2017-10-12 12:01:21.916 16382 DEBUG octavia.network.drivers.neutron.base
[-] Neutron extension dns-integration is not enabled
checkextension_enabled
/usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/octavia/network/drivers/neutron/base.py:65

while never seen neither in documentations nor in config files any
mentions about Designate.

Thank you.

No, this is just Octavia checking if the Neutron <-> DNS
integration is enabled or not.

This should not affect Octavia - it uses this value to decide how
it moves ports around for failover.
